What if I feel faint during a blood draw?
It’s not uncommon for some patients to feel lightheaded or faint during blood work. Our phlebotomists are trained to keep you safe and comfortable.
You’ll be seated or reclined during your draw.
If you begin to feel faint, let your phlebotomist know immediately.
We may provide water, a cool cloth, or pause the procedure to help you recover. Your phlebotomist will determine the best course of action based on your symptoms.
Most clients feel fine within a few minutes and can return to normal activities after resting briefly.
