What if I feel faint during a blood draw?

It’s not uncommon for some patients to feel lightheaded or faint during blood work. Our phlebotomists are trained to keep you safe and comfortable.

  • You’ll be seated or reclined during your draw.

  • If you begin to feel faint, let your phlebotomist know immediately.

  • We may provide water, a cool cloth, or pause the procedure to help you recover. Your phlebotomist will determine the best course of action based on your symptoms.

Most clients feel fine within a few minutes and can return to normal activities after resting briefly.
